Cotto doesn't have as many options as he thinks he does. Martinez is the 2nd biggest fight he can make besides Canelo. Goahead fight Quillin for 2 million on Showtime Casper.

Turn down Cotto? Fine, but it's Rubio and then GGG. And you'll make less for both combined than you would for Cotto. But hey, you know everything Sergio. Play hardball. See who wins.

At middleweight not as many as Martinez.

Cotto vs Quillin is on regular showtime against a champ who hasn't faced any legit opposition there is a serious drop in quality from Sergio to Quillin. Realistically who else can he fight at mw where the fights on ppv and it becomes the signature win of his career?

Martinez can fight GGG for much less but that's the fight all fight fans want.

You saying Sergio has a better shot of beating GGG than Cotto does of beating Quillin? He doesn't and Cotto would still have places to go afterwards, while Sergio will have to restart at 39 and coming off injuries. He's stupid to walk away from Cotto for Rubio/GGG combo, but hey it's his career.

Cotto can beat Quillin, become MW champ and Canelo can move up or Cotto can move back down. Those fights are always there and make him just as much $$$ as Martinez. Apparently he's dumb because he went for the lineal title over the $$$ in the first place Everybody flip-flopping.

That's not even remotely close to what i'm trying to say. My point was that a win over Martinez is levels above a win over Quillin. While a win over GGG is above beating Cotto for Martinez. While he might not make as much money Martinez has other fights that will add to his legacy and earn him more respect amongst fans. The point i've been making is that both guys would be stupid to break off negotiations over something petty as whose name goes first.

Like I said a win over the Lineal Champ is levels above any other middleweight opponent for Cotto so while he's the clear A side he misses out on a great career defining opportunity if negotiations were to collapse while Martinez misses out on a nice paycheck.

lmao everyone know Murray beat Martinez and that was a terrible robbery in Argentina. Murray should be the champion not Martinez. Article doesnt even emphasize this fact. So why Martinez needs to be 'treated with dignity' hes not even the real champ in anyones mind..
