nash, kobe, pau and dwight has coached this team last 30 games or so.

the 3 big adjustments that led to lakers going 20-8 or so last couple months.

1 nash offball more, kobe facilitator - nash and kobe's idea

2 pau gaol post up - kobe and pau's idea, kobe facilitated it

3 improved dwight post defense - dwight coordinated

NONE were dantoni. they didn't even tell him beforehand.

better kobe chucking up 30 shots than blake and meeks.

yeah. instead of ball hog kobe shooting 25 times drawing double teams and breaking down the defense.

we get blake and meeks shooting 30 times without drawing double teams and rarely breaking down anyone.

our fg % is down, our pts is down, our ft att is down.

but hey at least our to stayed the same and we pad our reb stats with all our misses.

              W/ kobe
vs. portland 73 fg att 15 to
vs. golden state 66 fg att 12 to

              W/O kobe
vs. san antonio 85 fga 14 to
vs. houston 90 fga 12 to

              • kobe out doesn't really mean more shots for dwight and pau.

they get more touches but instead of dunks for dwight and one on one post ups, you get hook shots and double teams.

instead of open mid jumpers and one on one post ups for pau, you get guarded jumpers and double teams.

the ones getting kobe's shots are laker perimeter players.

yeah but look at the teams you're comparing.

San Antonio and Houston have much better interior defense than Warriors and Blazers.

you have to look at the team as a whole and how they're much more into the games on both ends of the floor since Kobe left. They actually feel like their a part of the team.

also, Kobe didn't take a lot of shots in his last couple of games when he was playing 48mins. Trying to catch Kareem's all-time mark became 2nd priority after winning cuz Lakers had to make the playoffs. So Kobe was taking less than 20shots per game even though he was playing 48mins. Had he done that all year, Lakers would be a top 4 team in the west.
