You must have forgot JT's counter punching skills and body attack.

Cal didn't have the offense or defense to beat Toney.

Toney counters over the top of one of those slaps and it's LIGHTS OUT.

Joe was too open for right hands to get off the canvas and dig deep enough to beat JT.

Dave Tiberi was robbed against Toney in a fight he dominated.

Toney fans sort of take the shine off of his career the lies from them is embarrassing, trying to make him look like something he isn't.
He's a great fighter, very talented but he has his many flaws like many other fighters he isn't world class.
Griffin is a LHW, I don't see how he compares to JC, JC never faced an opponent as dangerous as Griffin.

JT suffered a brain injury to his pituitary gland, it's why he weighed 179 on fight night against Thadzi. That's the reason his prime was short lived, the reason he never moved back down, his body was unable to produce testosterone.

And he fought Tiberi 3 years into his career, that's when EVERY fighter is vulnerable. The difference is in his prime with a wealth of fights, JC was getting struggling and getting rocked/dropped by the likes of Mitchell, Bika, Hopkins, RJJ, etc.

James Toney is levels and levels above Joe Calzhage.

He had the skills to fight heavyweights...Joe would get killed...literally.

          He never really struggled.

Joe was past his prime - he was never down until he was well into his 30s.

            Never struggled

He was 31 when Byron Mitchell dropped him like a sack of ****.

Not well into his 30's and definitely in his prime.

Many thought Robin Reid beat him so I think that's a struggle.

fact is these guys cant hold a candle to joe calzaghe. The guy was 46-0 because he couldnt lose, joe didnt know how to lose.

Joe had critics all his career. People said he was a hypejob so he then whooped eubank. People said he was a limited european, so he brought lacy over here and schooled his ass, as the betting underdog. Then people said he couldnt do it in america, couldnt beat a legend in hopkins. Joe went over there and landed more shots on hopkins than any other fighter has done in his career. People said he couldnt beat roy, and that he was avoiding him. He got roy in the ring and beat him from pillar to post for 11 of the 12 rounds.

Joe was as close to an unbeatable fighter as if ive seen, you knock joe down he gets back up. Joe was as intelligent as they come, whatever style he was presented with he would find a way to win. People can do these fantasy fights all they want, they can match up any fighter with him at 168 and my answer will be the same- joe would have beat them.

                  hmmmmm...

At 168 Joe Calzaghe wins! but at 175 James Toney has a better chance at wining!

James Toney at 168 was too unpredictable, and i don't think it was his best weight.

Oh he struggled mightily, Bika was mauling him on the inside and had him stumbling around the ring with clean shots like he did a mere 15 secs into round 1.

Bika landed the cleaner, harder shots, JC had the higher volume. When you compare Stevenson, Ward's and even Bute's performances against him, they all separate themselves, JC didn't. Just like Kovalev, Dawson, Smith separated themselves from Hopkins.

JC also arguably lost to Reid, already been 6 years pro, in his prime.

He wasn't down until his 30's because he never fought guys that could punch, Kessler-Lacy-??? are the most dangerous fighters this guy has faced lol, look at the KO %'s of the guys he fought, facts don't lie. And Kess had an injured hand that fight.
