  • Comments Thread For: Chavez vs Paez Jr. Heading To November 5 in Mexico

BoxingScene.com has been advised that undefeated welterweight Omar Chavez (27-0-1, 20KOs) will face Jorge Paez Jr. (29-4-1, 18KOs) on November 5th in Mexico. The sons of Mexican legends previously appeared in a doubleheader, which Zanfer put specifically together to build this fight, on September 4. Chavez blew out Alberto Martinez in one round, while Paez stopped Rodrigo Juarez in three.

Why isn't Omar as well known and popular as Jr.? All because he isn't Jr. nor promoted by Arum? Or is it because Julio Jr. has more of "the superstar look"?

To be honest, I didn't even know Chavez had another son who boxed?

Nah, he's with Uncle Bob. The sad truth of it is that his face looks like it went through a mincing machine at birth. Hence no Julio-style promos.

He always headlines on Mexican TV when he fights and Paez Jr. 29 (18 ko)-4-1 will be his first true test, if he beats him, he will go versus argentinian Luciano Leonel Cuello 30 (14 ko's)-2-1

        The Bussinesman Chavez FTW!

Havent seen Paez JR fight, but I have seen Omar, he is a way better boxer than his brother. he doesnt get recognition b/c he still up and coming and all the attention goes to his brother. the brother has his dad name.

              Omar is deadly.

              Seriously.

He's killed a man in the ring.

Not sure if that's why he hasn't gotten as much publicity as his bro.

what are you guys talking about?
julio killed the type of opponents omar is going life and death with
omar lacks focus more than anything, but i believe he can be protected into a wbc belt if they truly want to
