Do you all remember Joe Vs Lacy?
That is what would happen it would be such an easy win for Calzaghe far too quick, offers too many angles he'd take a fat lazy twerp like Toney to school even quicker than Randy Couture did.
For the benefit of the thread, we're obviously taking the best versions of each fighter.

Otherwise, we could discuss the versions of Joe who struggled and looked horrible when he fought the likes of: Starie, Thornberry, Reid, Salem and Bika etc.

      Such a bootlicker.

Lacey was nowhere near the level Toney was at..bad comparison...but that's to be expected from the likes of you.
True Lacy wasn't at the level of Toney I never seen Lacy get knocked down by a jab by Samuel Peter so obviously flabby Toney is better.

Toney never had the stamina to keep up with Joe. Toney would be effective for the first 4 rounds and then Calzaghe would punk him for the next 8. I could even see Joe dropping Toney.
Can you please put us out of our misery and tell us whether or not you're sharing a joke?

If you're serious, please stop posting.

Joe was never out of shape or fat for his fights he was a disciplined fighter, theoretically getting a 'prime' James Toney to show up is like your chances of winning the lottery, slim... unlike Toney.

I agree that in reality, James may not have given Joe an ounce of respect, and he could have underestimated him and not shown up fully fit. That would have been more than possible. He was his own worst enemy.

James didn't get whooped by non great fighters at his best. Don't exaggerate. A fighter can't always be at his best when he's got such a hectic schedule.

I think the version of James who beat either Barkley or Littles, vs the version of Joe who beat Lacy, would have been a great fight.
Joe doesn't defend right hands well enough to make it a great fight.

You must have already forgotten JT's counter-punching skills.

Toney hits him at will with ZERO fear of anything coming back.

Joe went life and death with a shot Charles Brewer and shameslessly ducked Glenn Johnson,a guy Sven Ovtke beat.

                No

Like he stomped Vasyli Jirov and countless others.

Joe barely got by shot Charles Brewer, who was fresh from getting KTFO by Antwun Echols.

The same Echols, that Joe was supposed to have fought instead of Brewer.

Echols vs Brewer was for Joe's title.
                Joe fought the loser.

Stomped Jirov lmfao you clearly didn't watch that fight!
It's always good when casuals talk about boxing they mention those names that real boxing fans brought up as a counter argument to making Toney look like he was a better fighter than he really is but truth is the Jirov fight could have gone either way.

"Flabby" Toney is better than anybody your kind has ever produced.

                    Let's see ya'll produce a better fighter.
