  • Why is Ray Leonard not considered the GOAT?

IMO he should get more recognition at the best ever. Ray was a master in the ring. Please give me a reason why he is not the GOAT

Floyd Mayweather is for fighting ATG in 39 year old Mosley and VISCIOUS Victor "young prime hungry that didn't just fight for a paycheck" Ortiz. Plus he cleaned up the sport with OST! No more cheating in boxing. Mayweather revolutionized boxing

As god tier as Leonard's resume is, if he had've fought and defeated McCallum & Julian Jackson @ 154 or 160 and Pryor @ 147, he probably would've had undoubtedly THE greatest resume in boxing history.

Or even just 2 out of the 3 wins over the gentlemen listed above and his resume would've been unfuckwittable.

        Sugar Ray Robinson

        Willie Pep

        Joe Louis

        Ali

        Benny Leonard

        Sam Langford

        And so on...

He's in the top 20 maybe 15 or so.

        Definitely not #1

That is a nice list but Ray Leonards talents in the ring are unseen nowadays. Still think Ray smokes Mayweather and Pacquiao respectively.

Ray Leonard finished his career off in 89-91 (not counting his comeback in the later 90's) and at that time Gerald McClellan was still a prospect......barley

Continue on with so on. That's about where the list ends of fighters ahead of Ray. Henry Armstrong also but Ray is in the top 10 of all time.

                Probably.

That just makes him better then any fighter today.

                But not GOAT.

He would but Mayweather is only a top 40 or so fighter. Pac might end up in the top 20 but it's because his rise through the ranks. Not his dominance at 147lbs.
