For the second part, if insurance companies can never turn people away for preexisting conditions, why on earth would anyone maintain insurance? Just wait till you get sick and buy it. Just wait till your house burns down (or floods) and buy fire (or flood) insurance, wait till you die and let your family buy life insurance, etc ad nauseam.

According to a CBO study, 20 times as many Americans don't have insurance because they can't afford it, than because they were denied for preexisting conditions.

And of the 3.5% of those without coverage for pre exist conds, only 82K have actually signed up for Obama's pre exist plan.

The biggest problem with healthcare in this country is that it's so expensive and likewise health insurance. We need to be able to purchase health insurance across state lines and tort reform that will reduce the cost of malpractice insurance (which is passed on to the patient.) Ideas that were ignored (along with dozens of other Republican plans) by Obama in the creation of the hyper partisan Obamacare. Romney plans to address the cost issue and develop a high risk insurance pool to deal with those currently being denied health insurance.

Guess you missed the memo: Tort DEFORM has already happened in pretty much every state - damages have been capped on med-mal suits. Chamber of Commerce brainwashed people into thinking that poor little Stella was some sort of "jackpot justice" seeker when she sued McDonalds for brewing their coffee at the same temperature as a car radiator.

People are incredibly ignorant on this concept of "jackpot justice." They seem to think everytime somebody sues a Dr., or a corporation, they are just "wanting free money." Absolute rubbish. . . .

Moreover, it is a constitutional right for JURIES, not LEGISLATURES to decide what somebody should receive in damages. Why do we allow juries to decide on the dealth penalty, but not a mere monetary value levied against somebody? Chamber of Commerce, and overwhelming support of the sheeple.

Oh yeah, you wanna take a guess what happened to insurance costs since tort deform? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question, we already know what happened. . .

Just like we're all shocked than an overweight, middle aged, middle class angry white dude (no racist - lol white myself of course) *****es about everything that is not a "Republican idea."

Just saying. . You don't seem ot understand that tort deform has already taken place, and if anything, insurance premiums have gotten MORE EXPENSIVE for people, rather than the opposite effect you claim it would have. . .

Weird that the insurance companies would pocket the money, rather than pass the savings off, eh?

Let 1 Industrilist do the arguing. He is the conservative voice here in the lounge.

You are just another teabagger. ONE INDUSTRIALIST is a true capitalist, and actually has reason to support right wing ideology. . . You do not.

Seriously, though. Jeffries is WRONG about tort deform. LOL, it's been passed in most states for like a decade now.

And it has failed. . The entire purpose it was sold to the average citizen on is that it would decrease their health insurance costs. . Crazy that the savings haven't "trickled down," eh?

Call your local congressman(woman) and say that you want the tort deform laws to be overturned.

If a Dr. ever ****s you up, you're not even going to get enough money to cover the costs to fix it.

It is a constitutional right for the JURIES, not the legislators to decide what the damages are in a civil suit. . . Do not believe that prices are going to rise, or that corporations, and health insurance comapanies will EVER. . EVER pass savings off to you.

You have been duped by misinformation surrounding the lady who sued McDonalds over hot coffee. . Chamber of Commerce has gotten you to act against your own interests once again.
