Hagler. Loved his blue collar approach.

Duran was my favourite. Followed by Hagler.

Can't choose between Duran and Hagler, so they're joint 1st for me. Then Hearns followed closely by Leonard.

What an era that was, arguably the greatest ever lightweight, one of the greatest ever middleweights, ont of the p4p hardest punchers and one of the most skilled fighters p4p all facing off.

If I was to list them, it would be:

                      Sugar Ray Leonard
                      Roberto Duran
                      Marvelous Marvin Hagler
                      Tommy The Hitman Hearns

This was the era in which I started to report on the sport that I love so much and there was always something to write about. The war between Hagler and Hearns was one of the most intense fights I have ever seen and the fights between Leonard and Hearns split a nation in two.

The most surprising of the fights was the first real big event I saw live, Hagler v Duran. I fully expected Hagler to do a number on the much smaller Duran but The Hands of Stone would not be denied and although he lost comfortably, he corrected and atoned for the sins of the past.
