Won't claim to understand system, but Corrales missed out when his five-year mark came and he was on the ballot.

Not sure if guys get a second chance, if not and only a five-year rule, understand ibhof even less.

I thought it was every year after being retired for 5 years, no? Would make more sense anyway.

I believe Holyfield is first eligible next summer.

How about the likes of Brandon rios, Chris algieri, Victor ortiz or andre berto. Lol. I think it doesn't really matter if they fought them. The higher caliber opponents would get in on their own merit. A lot of their opponents will get in because they were the best out there and made a name for themselves.

Has Corrales ever been on the ballot?

Sorry he didn't make it when his year came up, in 2013.

Here's a thought - imagine that the following all have their last fight this year (not the most likely scenario, but not totally unrealistic either):

                Pacquiao
                Hopkins
                Jones jr.
                Wlad
                Mosley
                Toney
                Marquez
                Cotto

So 5 years down the road, they will all become eligible for HOF-status at the same time. Which means, that 5 of those 8 (who you would think, under normal circumstances, would all be first-year inductees) will have to wait another year (or two!), to even get a spot on the ballot. That would be a bit strange!

So he was only on the ballot that one year? How come? Why doesn't he come up again?

Corrales who was a very good fighter and did beat a couple good oppenents in Frietas and Casamayer but he is barely a borderline Hall of Famer. He had the talent but his two biggest wins vs Frietas and casamayer wont get him in anytime soon.

Corrales IMO could prolly be one of those fighters who get in 20 years down the line on one of those vintage era enterances that they do.

He's not on the ballot. This is the list for 2015 class + 3 additions for 2016 Class.

2015 Class: Paulie Ayala, Nigel Benn, Riddick Bowe, Chris Eubank, Leo Gamez, Naseem Hamed, Genaro Hernandez, Julian Jackson, Santos Laciar, Rocky Lockridge, Miguel Lora, James “Buddy” McGirt, Henry Maske, Dariusz Michalczewski, Sung-Kil Moon, Michael Moorer, Orzubek Nazarov, Lupe Pintor, Gilberto Roman, Gianfranco Rosi, Meldrick Taylor, Wilfredo Vazquez, Ratanapol Sor Vorapin, Hilario Zapata, Donald Curry, Sven Ottke, Samuel Serrano, Ray Mancini , Vinny Pazienza and Fernando Vargas. 30 Overall

2015 Inductees: Ray Mancini, Riddick Bowe and Naseem Hamed

New Candidates/Addition For 2016 Class: Hector Camacho, Yuri Arbachakov, Sot Chitalada

2016 Inductees: Hector Camacho, Hilario Zapata, Lupe Pintor

This is how I understand it. Every Year, 3 Inductees will get in, then replace by 3 new candidates. Electors will vote for their top 5 names. Top 3 vote getters will be inducted in IBHOF.
