  • Comments Thread For: Schaefer: Wilder vs. Arreola-Mitchell Winner in Play

If Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28KOs) defeats former champion Siarhei Liakhovich (25-5, 16KOs) on Friday night at Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio - Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is interested in matching him against the winner of the September 6th showdown between Chris Arreola (35-3, 30KOs) and Seth Mitchell (26-1-1, 19KOs), taking place on September 6th at the same Indio venue. Both cards are being televised by Showtime.

Schaefer hopes the overall winner between Wilder vs. Arreola-Mitchell will establish a legit American challenger to the heavyweight throne - currently dominated by Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko. [Click Here To Read More]

Deontay Wilder will finally fight someone with a pulse. I think it will be Wilder-Arreola. Seth Mitchell boxing ability is pretty bad.

That would be an interesting approach to the direction of his career. Still if their plan was give him 5 years to develop and then throw him out there against some contenders that puts him about right on time.

I would still be taking it slow with him because he need to clean up a bunch of things but you don't need to be flawless to be a very good prize fighter you just need to know your flaws and strengths and then fight accordingly to minimize the flaws and accentuate the strengths.
