Gennady Golovkin beat Daniel Geale in less than three rounds in New York on Saturday night. The WBA and IBO middleweight champion won inside the distance for the 27th time in remaining undefeated after 30 professional fights. Geale, a former WBA and IBF champion, took a beating. He was knocked down in the second round and lost his challenge after 2 minutes and 47 seconds of the third round at Madison Square Garden. The 33-year-old Geale, who dropped to 30-3, including 16 knockouts, had beaten the likes of Roman Karmazin, Sebastian Sylvester, Felix Sturm and Anthony Mundine. Photos by Mike Stobe/Ed Muholland.

If Geale didn't shout something at the moment, but took precautions to protect himself, the fight would go different way.

    Completely dissapointed with the ending..

Fight like a man, it's not an amateur sparring with the bigger guy, when you can quit if it's too hard for you..

Good performance but it's clear paying fans don't want to see him beat another average MW. His people need to do what it takes to get in with a top tier MW or SMW if they and HBO want him to be a major drawing star.

LOL why do you think he called out the other belt holders in the Division. Him beating Cotto will make him just that.

Did you see Geale trying to walk on his own to the dressing room? He looked like he was on a 12 hour whiskey bender, they had to help him walk a good 5 minutes after the fight had ended. The smartest thing that man has ever done was tell the ref he was done it would've gotten really ugly if he hadn't. I'd rather a boxer man's up and says ok i've had enough and i'm not putting myself in life long danger than to end up like the big homie mangomed.

daniel geale was ranked #3 at middleweight and was the former unified IBF and WBA super champion.

I love seing the pictures of Golovkin fights, he looks savage as **** with every punch he throws. You can see the bad intention just by his expression.

What does that mean??? Ranking could be just as corrupt as promoters! Truth is you probably never seen him fight live on tv before...you probly looked at the ratings and said" oh this guy is ranked 3rd?? Wow he must be good"! Right?? totally ignoring the fact he got beat by bob barker who got beat by martinez who got beat by cotto and triangle theories go on and on... geale was average at best and it showed last night!

Geale has been ranked near the top of the division for years. This is a very good win for GGG.
