I caught a film called "Mustang" the other day, and it occured to me that it was the first Turkish language movie I've seen.

Is anyone here big on Turkish cinema?

I always want to watch different types of films and have downloaded quite a few, but when i actually want to watch a film, i always go for an easy big hollywood blockbuster.
Although i did watch The Witch t'other day and it was bloody fab.

I grew up watching 70s/80s middle eastern movies. One Turkish movie I remember well is a real feel-good flick. It's about a poor brother who has a younger brother who's dying from cancer. All the boy wants is a television, so the bro and his friend steal a tv and right when they get the channels on, little bro dies. It's a real boost in morale this flick:

'Canim Kardesim' i.e. 'Dear brother'
