Certainly a force, I like that more great fighters are now popping out of different parts of the world. Certainly gives more weight to calling yourself the world champion.
The days of "the great white hype" being believable are looong gone.
In fact for the past decade the HW division has been the exact opposite of thst movie with America and the West desperately trying to find. Great black hope.
The great white hype has always applied to White American fighters, not Europeans. Hell, even a lot of Latin fighters are white skinned, but good white American fighters are still a rare commodity.
I guess it's a reaction to butt hurt Americans refusing to give European fighters due credit/slating them, etc. I'm not anti-American in general. The point is when you say the US is centre of the sport, this simply isn't true. The Ring currently has 2 Americans on their p4p list, in Mayweather and Crawford, while Vladimir, GGG and Kovalev are there too.
As somebody else mentioned, the heavier divisions seem to become more and more dominated by Eastern Europeans and Russians - America only has Wilder to boast of, and he hasn't proven himself yet.
It's true that American boxing isn't in it's golden era right now but I think it's very early to write them off.
Yes in the heavier divisions there are many EE fighters and Americans are weak in those divisions, ever since the Klitschko era they stopped produce quality hw and lhw fighters. As for the cruiserweight... It was alwys an overlooked invisible division in the USA and still is. I don't kowwhy though... It's just a division, like the other ones.
I meant that America is the centrre of the sport that it's the centre of it as a location, a country. Almost everybody wants to fight in the USA. Only exception is Klitschko (who can draw in Europe), some of the UK stars, Japanese boxers in lower divisions and some fighters from divisions which are overlooked by Americans hence they wouldn't be successful in the USA, like the mentioned cruiserweights.
But other than them if you look at it everyone wants to fight in the USA. The top quality EE fighters like Kovalev, Beterbiev and Golovkin also moved to the USA. The biggest Mexican and Puerto-Ricn stars also all want to fight in the USA and some of the British names like Khan (and from now Frampton too and sometimes Degale too) also want to fight in the USA.
So in short, almost all the big names want to fight in the USA. Even Klitschko does it sometimes despite he really shouldn't have to.
lol u must be joking iwht that i mean theres always and elite level talented american fighter thats set to dominate these clowns i mean just look at froch and how he got handled by ward like he was a dam joke like some movie theate ticket ripper
Irish and people of Irish descent have always dominated combat sports. Look at some of the current guys.
Conor McGregor
Andre Ward
Katie Taylor
Joe Duffy
Andy Lee
Carl Frampton
Anthony Joshua
Paddy O'Holohan
Tyson Fury
Hughie Fury
Then you have to remember the older guys like Ali,Quarry,Cooney,McLaurin, etc
Ali? just cos one of his ancestors was raped by their Irish slave owner does not make him of Irish descent...unless you do not understand what familial descent is.
Lee doesn't dominate anything...Joshua? Same thing as Ali.
Man you're really stretching the definition of familial descent aren't you?
I like a lot of American fighters, my two favourite fighters of all time are Leonard and Ali.
What's your problem? Why did you call me out?
I don't know how else I could see you sig.
You have Obama on it with the sentence. "Stupid has a president". Now, since he is the American president it's pretty logical to think that the picture calls Americans "stupid" and you use that as a signature. That's why.
But if you didn't mean that with it, I don't know what the picture tries to say.
Whatever...
Ukraine had a golden generation but the current national team is relatively weak. They may not even win one medal at the next World Championships. Boxers from Azerbaijan are garbage, but their corrupt boxing federation buys them medals.
Russia and Kazakhstan produce good amateur boxers.
Ali? just cos one of his ancestors was raped by their Irish slave owner does not make him of Irish descent...unless you do not understand what familial descent is.

Why do you hate seeing a successful Irishman? Seeing this post and your sig,I might have to report you.
