He was a "great" competitor and a tuff as nails man! over a hundred bouts and never was stopped and fought the best competition. was known as the "uncrowned welter champ" with wins and losses with Kid Gavilan and Carmen Basillo Patty DeMarco, Castellani and Giardello!!! He finished his career with two hard fought bouts with up and coming Chico Vejar. He didn't have power but had no problem mixing it up with the best! Terrific fighter.
