  • When Journeyman Plodder Johnson, Shattered Roy Jones Glass in the ring

Why do people say he was "shot"

I mean if he really was that great, surely he would have beaten Johnson even when past prime.

I think Roy lost because he was just ****.

Roy relied on his speed ... he always had crap defence especally
against the ropes. it was his speed that made him great ...
once that slowed down he was easy pickings ...

Too be honest, I think he got his mind got fked.
The brutal knock out from Tarver and loss of athleticism he once relied on was pretty much his downfall.

Roy Jones is one of the.greatest of.our generation especially in his prime, his defense was based on his athleticsm which was affected by under training and the move up and down from heavy, Tarver took some of Roys confidence with that knockout, there is not one fighter from middle to light heavy that could beat him in his prime, some fighters get older quicker. Roy Jones was already 49-1 at the time of that fight and his one loss was a DQ, 50 fights over 14 years at the time. So yes Roy was a shot and had a lost step, and don't take anything away from Johnson he is a hell of a boxer

No he wasn't, the only thing "shot" was his glass chin, by Plodder Johnsons fist.

Despite his misleading record Glen Johnson is anything but a journeyman. I've lost count of the amount of times he has been robbed throughout his career.

Roy Jones tarnished his record a long time ago, now he's a joke that won't give it up.
