Cotto would get picked apart in the exact same way, maybe even easier because he is not as cerebral as Marquez.

There's a reason why Arum didn't want to put Cotto with Floyd when they were both his fighters and when they were both JWWs. After Floyd breaks free from Arum, OF COURSE Arum will try to convince the public that Floyd is ducking Cotto; that's what promoters are supposed to do. Don't be so blind and easily-led, don't fall for the propaganda, and just be objective about what you see in the ring. Cotto has never been a good defensive fighter, he gets tagged in one fight the same amount of times Floyd does in 3 fights combined, and don't even come at me with that "Floyd doesn't take risks", because that's what a SMART fighter is supposed to do.

That jab Floyd popped against JMM will be there ALL night against Cotto, and if JMM couldn't counter over it, Cotto sure as hell won't. If Cotto tries to pressure him (which he should do, but I doubt he will because now he seems to prefer moving around the ring), Floyd would back up quickly and keep Cotto at bay with his jabs, straight rights, and left hooks. If Cotto tries to attack the body, he'd leave his face wide open and Floyd would counter him to death.

Again, there is just no way that Cotto could beat Floyd, and he would look foolish trying to do so. Are the Cotto dickriders ready to admit this?

HELLLLL NOOOOO! please .... but i think Floyd beat Pac Cotto and Mosley

And Cotto is a selective pressure fighter, who trhows a avergae of 80 punches per round, he is the best body puncher in the game, have a top 5 jab and have top 5 timming. Very good bear, and decent defense. he have all the offensive tools to rock mayweathers world.

Maywether is not offensive enough to think he will just own Cotto. He he was cautions fighting a old LW who didnt threw punches, what you think he will do, when a young prime fight strats pressuring his ass and hammering away.
Cotto's defense is NOT decent, it is extremely below average. People say he beat Judah much worse than Floyd did (because he got the KO), but Judah managed to land A LOT more punches on Cotto than he did on Floyd.

That "selective pressure fighter" thing helps him against average opponents, but against Floyd it will just make him easier to beat, because Floyd will be better aware of all the countering opportunities. Cotto isn't smart enough or slick enough to set traps for Floyd and force him to make mistakes. Floyd, on the other hand, is peerless when it comes to forcing others to make mistakes, and he is extremely effective at taking his opponent's strengths away. Cotto is a fighter who has a history of making MANY mistakes, and they have been exploited by lesser fighters than Floyd.

Winky didn't need power against Tito, all he had was the jab. You only need good reflexes and quick counterpunching to stop a fighter in his tracks.

Also, what makes you think Cotto will keep coming forward? He hasn't been doing that since the Mosley fight.
        Cotto>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Marquez and Baldomir

Cotto been facing huge WW like Mosley, Clottey and Margarito so he had to use other gameplan to face them. Just look what he did against Judah who is not a huge WW. He just uses a different gameplan when faced with bigger dudes.

I think Margachetto, Mosely, P Williams and Pacquaio would have a good chance against Floyd. Floyd is waiting for Mosely to become 100 before he fights him.

Cotto I don't see him having as much chance but would have to be a similar Cotto who beat Mosely not the one who recently fought J Clottey.

How is Cotto a better boxer than Marquez? Marquez is the better counterpuncher, and he adapts better. Let's compare them in that regard:

                  Marquez:

                  - knocked down 3 times in first round and ended with a draw
                  - knocked down by Barrera and ended with a wide UD
                  - back and forth with Casamayor and stopped him
                  - hurt by Diaz and stopped him

                  Cotto:

                  - ahead in Margarito fight and got KO'd
                  - knocked Clottey down early and ended with a controversial SD
                  - outboxing Mosley easily and backed up in the last rounds

Oh, and there's a reason JMM is ranked P4P #2 and Cotto isn't - HE'S A BETTER, MORE SKILLED BOXER
