The problem with such a machine is building it to be able to withstand the enormous gravitational pressure of being at the centre of the earth's iron core.

What will you expect Larry?

Just a bunch of dirt, rocks, and lava. It's not like you're gonna see new species living down there, unless you're talking about those microscopic organisms that live in volcano's. Even then I doubt there's any worth going down there for.
