While Ward has stood firm that he made an offer of 50/50 to fight Golovkin before a deal was finalized with David Lemieux, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez says that’s completely untrue.

Khan said that Brook needed to beat a known opponent before mentioning his name.... Brook did that..... then Khan wanted Brook to win a title first..... Brook did that..... now Khan wants Brook to..... not sure what he wants Brook to do now, to be honest.
Ward became relevant by announcing his comeback fight.
Golovkin = Khan 2.0

Fun fact. The fight that arguably became the most important fight of the era prior to Floyd-Manny was Jones-Hopkins. They are clearly the best fighters of that era. A lotta people consider them 1a and 1b. Hopkins' supporters point to his longevity and how long he's outlasted Roy as a top fighter. Roy's supporters point to the head-2-head match-up. The fun fact is, that fight was on a Riddick Bowe undercard. And there was a day in time when it was far from unusual to see elite fighters fighting on PPV undercards.
Either way, there's ZERO logical explination that can be made as to why a so called hardcore fight fan doesn't wanna see Ward-GGG. There's no logical explination that can be made by a so called hardcore fight fan that GGG should prioritise fights with bums like Lemieux and the Lee-Saunders winner over Ward. And the only people that would rather see GGG take those fights are his worshippers that KNOW Ward is a stylistic nightmare for Gennady. And they simply wanna ride hype train. And have no real interest in this guy legitimizing the hype.

That is exactly what the pacfans started saying immediately after it became PLAINLY OBVIOUS that Arum/Pac were ducking that fight
There is nothing in the world to indicate that Ward is avoiding that fight, nothing.

There is work to do.
But if you are happy in the knowledge that Golovkin was WILLING to fight Froch/Chavez at 168, but is clearly UNWILLING to fight Ward at 168..... then good for you.

It's one thing to fight a smaller guy from a division below who is a great and accomplished champion, but to want to fight a mere Title holder? Why is the P4P # 2 best fighter Andre Ward not showing this same enthusiasm when it comes to Kovalev? That's three title for him to win, and become a 2-division champion. What does the P4P # 2 best fighter stand to gain by beating a 160 pound Paper Champ?
See the focus should not be on GGG. Golovkin is and has been an active Middleweight, and is now trying to put the finishing touches to his Middleweight run by unifying all the belts. The focus should be on Andre Ward who already conquered the 168 pound division and has more than likely outgrown it physically. Why is he still sniffing around for money fights at 168? MOVE UP, take a risk and challenge yourself.
Golovkin currently has a lot of hype and an inflated standing within the sport, it is simply easier for Ward to re-establish himself by taking Golovkins shine in one fight, than it would be for him to beat Jack/Degale, and/or Kovalev, in 2/3 fights.
Ward is extremely smart and he understands about styles..... unfortunately, so do Team Golovkin.
