Olympic silver medallist Fred Evans has revealed how his desire to be a part of Great Britain's first World Series of Boxing franchise convinced him to resist the lure of the professional ranks in the aftermath of London 2012.
Evans is the biggest name in the GB Lionhearts line-up which makes its home debut at Celtic Manor near Newport on Friday November 23, alongside fellow Welshman Andrew Selby and Ireland pair John Joe Nevin and Joe Ward.
European champion Evans earned rave reviews for his performances in London, beating world champion Taras Shelestyuk to reach the Olympic final before falling to Kazakh Serik Sapiyev, who was later voted boxer of the tournament.
