    If thats the case I may be wrong. As long as people are sparring there/competing chances are your at least a real gym. Whether or not it's not the best gym for you the only way to find out is to shop around.

    Not doing mitt work is slightly odd but it could just be that your newer to the gym and if you stick around prove you really want to be there, coaches may start paying more individual to you whether it be mitt work or getting you sparring more.
