German promoter Sauerland have put the dampeners on one of this years most hotly anticipated showdowns between Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham this coming Saturday 27th November by arranging the weigh-in to be "media only".
With scores of Cobra fans heading over to Helsinki earlier than usual, simply to cheer on the Nottingham Super Middleweight at the weigh-in, the news has come as a bit of a blow.
"It's very dissapointing. There was a great atmosphere for Dirrell and the Kessler fights. A few thousand turned up for Froch against Dirrell when they hit the scales and although in fewer numbers in Herning, the fans were vociferous and excited to see two warriors in Froch and Kessler do the 'face to face' showdown." our source added.
"But Saulerland have arranged it for national press and media only. They have even turned down some of Carl's team and close family."
Whilst some official reason why it's media-only will likely be divulged, the move can only be seen as some sort of gamesmanship from Team Sauerland to heat up Froch and get him into a brawl.
