I've never considered alphabet belt holders to be actual champions unless they are the lineal champions as well. Valuev, Ruiz, Seldon, Norton, Berbick, etc. were never actually world champions.

As far as paper titlists go Ruiz wasn't a bad champion. He has a pretty good resume and tried getting fights with Lewis and the Klits. Was he boring? Sure. But Wlad is boring to and one of the best of all time.
