The entire population of the Philippines during the first ALI-FRAZIER fight was tuned in through televisions and radios.

Do they understand when Ali fought Shavers half the TVs in the United States was tuned into that fight?

Even if Floyd or PAC do like 6 million a fight their still baby numbers.

Ali vs Foreman had a third of the world audience... compare to Floyd and manny's 1-2 million PPV buys lol

              just saying

let's not go crazy with 'the biggest draws of all time' bull****
              How about a source?

AFAIK the Ali-Foreman fight was closed circuit in the US and probably wasn't televised in the Sovjet bloc.

Rating my people that's how the money would be made. PPV is one payment by the consumer, while NBC would have companies pay to promote there products just like the Super Bowl. PPV VS NBC= NBC ALL DAY.

                1 fight PPV= 1.2 million.

                1 NBC commercial 30 seconds= 30 million

                Just sayn.

                  PPV: $50-70
                  TV: Free

                  Hopkins-Pascal had 1.6Million viewers.

That's Hopkins, the same guy who struggles to sell half a mill PPVs.

                  Free TV: More viewers.

If Mayweather-Pacquiao was free? It would have like 1 billion viewers.

Tyson was around when PPV was in it's prime.

Please don't come with the illegal cable crap, cause now we have illegal streams which equally hurt PPV numbers.

This thread doesnt make sense. It cost alot of money for a PPV. Also, you cant act like the different era's dont matter. Floyd would be an even bigger star back in the 60's because boxing was way more popular, espically in the US. The NFL wasnt even around when Ali fought Liston.

Then you say Floyd was on his knees getting 150,000 pay checks from Gatti? Thats the biggest joke ever. He might not have been a mega star but Floyd was making millions for fights way before Gatti in which he again made way more than 150,000
