Man I'd love to see more of uchiyama but sadly he hasn't fought enough outside of japan to draw enough attention. Like you said you didn't hear much of him outside japan. If he fights abroad more, doesn't necessarily have to be the us, but just somewhere outside japan then he could get more attention.

I think a lot of people, most of them casual and (sorry to say) American fans will consider uchiyama a bum because he hasn't fought outside his country. Because of this he is really high risk low reward for gamboa and garcia. And we know uncle bob doesn't like that. It's annoying because in general japan can come out with some very good fighters, in places like the us and Europe (which includes the uk) we never hear anything about them. In most countries you rarely get news about foreign boxers unless they are ppv stars or if they beat a good prospect in your country.

      Don't know.

He almost had a rematch with Vasquez, but Vasquez opted out

Since Gamboa is saying he will go to Japan then Bob should add this to Manny undercard
