For years, one of the most asked questions ever asked among MMA fans was "When Is A Quality Boxer Going To Try MMA?", well this already had an answer sort of.....
James Warring, a former IBF Cruiserweight Champion from 7 July 1991 to 30 July 1992, who was also a multi-time Kickboxing champion has competed in three MMA bouts at a tournament for World Combat Championship on October 17 1995, he won the first 2 bouts to reach the finals, only to lose to BBJ expert and MMA veteran, Renzo Gracie:
Warring beat Eric Paulson, who was a top quality MMA fighter back then. He could've been a quality MMA fighter if he was younger and trained in some grappling skills, he already had a great boxing background. He entered in several kickboxing bouts so that's a plus.
Who knows maybe someday, a top quality boxer might be interested in giving MMA a try but for now, James Warring fits the bill.
