The worst thing he did against Lebedev was land a good shot and hurt him. Instead of accepting a thorough loss and heavy knockout, he probably spent the last few months thinking he could have knocked Lebedev out and added the cruiserweight crown to his legacy. Boxers have a bad habit of picking up on the small positive signs and ignoring the blatant negatives. (Which is why most boxers believe they won fights that, objectively assessed, were obvious losses.)
