Hernandez: 'Marquez looks bigger than Pacquiao'

    by Lem Satterfield

******.com: Is there anything to speculation that Marquez still was cutting weight during the course of this week?

AH: We have been, during the course of our whole training period, at about 143. The only time that we got heavy was at about 144, 144.5, and that was like two weeks ago.
So we didn't sacrifice any body weight, and we didn't sacrifice anything. All that we had to do was train and adapt his muscles so that he could be more dynamic and explosive, and be able to perform more quickly.
And the only way to be able to do that is that you have to be able to understand that one pound of fat is the same as one pound of muscle.
The only thing that changes is the volume. So a lot of people might look very big. I don't know if you were able to compare Pacquiao with Marquez on the stage, but Marquez looks very good.

Marquez looks bigger than Pacquiao, but if you can see, his stomach muscles are very small, but he's very, very defined. He's very defined, but we work it that way.

That's what I noticed too. In the past few fights, JMM looked like he was pretty bulked up and strong but he still had a slight fat roll around his waist. He reminded me of an older guy trying to muscle up but was just not able to hit that "peak" level of conditioning anymore.

Yesterday though, JMM looked like an athlete in his 20's. He was very lean, muscular but lean, much like a sprinter or a triathlete would look like. There was no fat at all around his waist or anywhere else. His muscles looked very compact and solid like fast twitch muscles have been the focus.

Pac looked like he was sporting a little more fat but not much. He looked solid in the mid section but his stomach is always laden with lumps of muscle everywhere from all the stomach conditioning he does. His arms looked smaller than JMM's did (the shoulders especially). Pac actually looked bulkier than JMM did to me and JMM looked like he would have the better stamina.

I'm not sure if I follow what's being said by Heredia here. Is he explaining the consistency in Marquez' weight, in other words that his body has been reconstituted (far to muscle) instead of getting heavier or lighter?

If he is, then the only problem with that is that it's quite difficult to simultaneously lose fat and gain muscle, especially for guy who's 38/39. You can do it, but it takes a lot longer to gain muscle mass, and bulk/cut cycles are probably preferable.

Marquez is lighter yet looks bigger . PEDs do wonders.

That's not PEDs mate, that's just how you look with a slightly lower bodyfat ratio.

Yes, it is tough but that was the point of having Angel Heredia in his corner. Without this guy I believe Marquez would have less of a chance against Pacquiao. Warquez by UD.

If you wanna be in denial be my guest but you don't need to give me lessons on physiques. I know exactly what I'm looking at mate.

Ok so Im confused. which one of them is juiced to the Gills?

                First it was Marquez
                Then it was Manny
                Now its Marquez.

are they both juiced up for this fight?

I don't think you do mate if you think it's impossible to look bigger while being a bit lighter. And in any case, if you're directly comparing Pacquiao and Marquez you have to take into account that Manny has legs like tree trunks.

I'm not saying there's no way Marquez has been utilising PEDs, there's a good chance he has given who his S&C coach is. But you can't just throw out any old horseshit and call it proof of PEDs.

Heredia worked with Marion Jones who was doping but was not found under Olympic style testing for years winning multiple medals. Now Marquez looks the most muscular than he ever has in his career under his guidance....doesn't take much of thinking on that one
