Was 2 degree when I left this morning. Didn't feel that bad just my toes and nose were cold. But then again I like the cold weather, it's refreshing

it was raining and 60 for most of the day. at night it dropped to 15, and the wind chill was way below zero.
now it's about 12 degrees, and the wind chill is frigid. i am about to head outside in a few, and i'm really not looking forward to it.

i think that the cold is moving north and west. you guys are probably due for a blast of frigid air and wind.
it's progbably 12 outside right now, but what made it particularly brutal this morning was the wind.

Now if that happened in Late January, it will probably stay around for a while as there is a 3 week deep freeze around that time.

when i was a young lad, we'd have snowbanks and largely frozen ground from december to february. rain was pretty rare. lately, we get almost as much rain as snow. it never used to rain in the mountains, either. there will be several bonafide rainstorms in the mountains each year now.

it got down to -15 ( wind chill -40) in Northwest Indiana.
They were shutting down interstates and county roads and leaving people stranded who where stuck.
They declared a state of emergency allowing only snow removal vehicles on the road and law, fire/rescue.
I didn't go to work yesterday but I rode with my dude today and we passed by several cars that he said have been there since yesterday.
it's a b*tch too cuz when you shovel out, the trucks come and plow you back in.
