  • should there be a weight limit rehydration clause in all fights ?

I mean like a 12 lb rehydration weight in 2 hours before the fight .

140 weight class can't weight more than 152 on fight night and so on .

Even on catchweights such as Chavez vs Reyes at 170 .....Chavez can't weight in more than 182...that would force Chavez to move up in weight to 175 or even cruiser weight ....
Chavez easily weight around 185-190 forcing him to move up

What are your thoughts on this ????

If this became rule which name fighter would be affected by forcing them to move up ....Salido ??? Canelo??? Chavez ????

Orlando Salido weights in around 148lb forcing him to fight at 140lb and so on with other fighters ...

it's never gonna fly but it would be good if no boxer would be allowed to weight more than the following division fight date, it'd be a more even field for everybody

you only name mexican fighters, you prob dont know that 90 % of fighters do the same, like danny garcia to name another, but the rules are the rules and until they change no one should be crying about it...

That's basically a same day weigh in.

If you made weight, you made weight. What you are suggesting is essentially a same day catch-weight 12 lbs above the normal division limit. Absurd.

Are you a Cotto fan by any chance?

Yes, I don't think a fighter should put on more than 10% of the weight limit.

They should go back to the same day weight in. Even more, they should weight in the fighters in the previous minute of the fight. If you weight 175lb, go to LHW, stop fighting at 154/160. Weight classes are a joke now.

Do you know the purpose of dividing boxing into categories according to the weight?

If you make weight at the weigh in, you belong in that weight class. If you can't make weight, then you don't belong in that weight class...and if you CAN make weight, but are too lazy to do so - then you shouldn't be boxing in the first place.

Danny Garcia weight around 152 when fought at 140 ...he has now outgrown the division that's why he move to 147 ....he now weights around 155-158

Unlike canelo who weight about 170 he should be fighting at 160
