Peterson kept that title because Matthysse didn't want to lose his #1 ranking by the WBC and have Garcia duck him. It just shows how much belts and records matter. And still some people will diss Matthysse with having never held a paper belt unlike frauds like Broner or Berto.

Correct, but wasn't Lucas in the position where he basically had to agree to the 1 pound thing or lose his place in line to fight Danny? That stuff was a little farcical.

147 is the limit, you don't have to weigh 147. It's still WW as it's above 140. Thats why the title wasnt on the line so Lucas wouldnt lose his rating and Lamont his title in the event of a loss iirc. Both parties retained their "good" standind in the division after the fight

Anyway, Lamont beat Kahn in a close-ish fight where Kahn though he could continue getting away with flagrant pushing and was penalized for it. Blame Kahn for acting like an amateur. He did POS it with the cheating but the Kahn fight was fairly close (going from memory) and decided by the point deduction.

Actually Khan is luckier....he loses to fights in a row..one by ko..then beat 2 nobodies and a shot to hell Collazo and is in the running to fight Mayweather...amazing
