  • Aching legs whilst running

    i have a problem when running i get some aching in my legs mainly my ankles an lower legs

    i have a decent pair of running shoes but it still seems to hurt

    anyone experience the same thing or have any tips

    Go to a store that specialises in running. I think your technique seems to be putting pressure on your ankle.

    They will test your gait, which is sort of the way your foot touches the ground. Some footwear are better than others. Like one is neutral etc...

    Have you tried a tredmill to see if it hurts? Running on the road hurts a lot more IMO so start slowly.

      Its difficult, but try to land mid to front foot. Try to avoid heel striking.

      Subconciously heel striking can lead to all sorts of injuries. I stuffed my right achilles doing just this...........gave myself six months of achilles tendonitis. Very painful!

        i find it easier on the treadmill but prefer road running over it due to the better work out and i also try to land on the front of my foot when running but i think fatigue gets the better of me

          If fatigue is your enemy, you basically need to up your weekly mileage.
