The story is news worthy because apparently a priest giving shelter to Muslims is an anomaly. Muslims killing Christians has become a repetitive headline. Which illustrates how destructive religion can be. So surely people voicing their dislike of religion is totally justified?

Fair point. The Catholic church probably has had more abuse cases highlighted by the media. But from what we know, the numbers of child abuse are staggering. Im not sure if other religions compare. But yes, it could be happening but covered up.

I'm not Roman Catholic, neither of my parents were either.

But I have respect for Mother Teresa, Vincent de Paul, Francis of Assisi and other Roman Catholics and appreciate the good they've done. Many poor people would have starved to death if not for these Catholics and followers who were inspired by them.

But im sure you also respect all the good work done by all other religions and non-religious charities.
