Margarito is not thw REAL WW champ.

How can some prejudiced media & fans now call Margarito the REAL WW champ. The recognized linear WW champ Floyd Mayweather retired undefeated. Andre Berto won the vacant title. That doesnt make Berto the WW champ. No one has won all the alphabet titles to unify the division.

After Margarito loss his alphabet title last year when he got slapped up by Paul Williams he won another alphabet title when he beat Cotto. No 1 can honestly claim that Margaritos alphabet title is worth more than Paul Williams alphabet title. Since Paul Williams already has a UD victory over Margarito.

Paul Williams & Berto have just as much right as Margarito to claim they are the best WW right now.

Margarito is an alphabet titholder. He is ranked #1 by Ring mag due to beating and replacing Cotto. In order for him to be a WW champ, he needs to face Paul Williams, ranked #2.

If Berto retires today... you would look back on his career, and wonder how the **** he got a belt, because he has not fought a single fighter who will be remembered 5 years from now. He has 0 claim of the true WW championship.

Margarito has fought and beaten the best names in the division compared to everyone else, so he has the best claim, resume wise, to the true WW championship.

Unfortunately, Williams, even though he hasn't beaten a bunch of big names like Margarito, has beaten Margarito himself, so he holds a share of the claim to the WW crown, because of his head-to-head win.

Only a rematch can limit the number of fighters who have a claim to that crown from 2 down to 1.

True... You but have to consider the entire scope and context of the division. Joel Casamayor is the LW champ, but does anyone put weight on that esp after his fight with SantaCruz? Yet Campbell for all intents are purposes is the MAN at LW in many peoples eyes given that he beat Diaz and won three titles in the process.
