It's hard to say because they are both different types of players. Messi can create great moves/play and reads the game very well...However Ronaldo is the type of player who can make things happen at anytime in the game. The goal against Porto was made out of nothing, basically from a dead ball. Ronaldo is dangerous anywhere near the box where as Messi isn't as dangerous because he doesn't shoot like Ronaldo does because he doesn't have that ability to his game. The type of play Messi thrives on is mistakes which he will create space and bring defenders out or even run past them like they weren't even there! They are both in their own ways....

Ronaldo..was given a free role in attack @ man U which allowed him to score 42 goals. He now has Benzema/Higuain/kaka all wanting to score now so he won't score much.
Ronaldo..can't really read the game or display incredible technique. Ronaldo is only a physical specimen other than that he sucks.

Messi..passes better.
Messi..had 38 goals/20 assists=58 goals created. Ronaldo 42 goals/8 assists=50 goals created. Messi's best season>Ronaldo's best season.
