and? greater importance to the goals. I like Basketball but all the points scored devalues the enjoyment for me.

Football is the biggest sport in the world for a reason, the drama. Watch a top game in a top league/competition and you wouldn't think that at all.

Well, any sport can be exciting, including even golf, NASCAR, etc. I like wrestling, but I fully see why a lot of people find it boring. But many people can probably see excitement in this kind of thing too:
