Glad to hear you have some common sense. I just don't understand the point in allowing a child to shoot a gun.

Some have argued that it's because you need to teach them gun safety, but why? Are you lending out your gun to your child?

How about we leave adult things for adults. That shooting range and everyone like it should be ashamed of itself in participating in this stupidity.

I taught my older kids firearm safety and it was very simple and it took less than a half hour

if you ever see a firearm in the house (which that will never happen) or thrown somewhere in the street they don't touch it and quickly get an adult or an officer involved

it didn't require firing the weapon

That's disgusting. Americans have no respect for the firearm. It's a weapon for taking lives, not something children should be playing with.

This may be one of the most unintentionally funny articles I have read this week. Sorry for sounding heartless, but why in God's name did no one prevent a nine year old from using a fucking SMG? Even if she was legally able to use one under supervision, common sense would tell you that some things maybe should be prevented regardless.

Because of the Mexican Drug Cartels, duuuuuuuude! They're totally gonna take the USA by storm!

I could see letting a child learn to use a firearm safely, say a small .22 rifle.

                  A SMG?

                  Good grief.

This is sad. Shouldn't let a 9 year old near an automatic. I dated a girl in high school who was in handgun and rifle competitions. She had been in them since about that age. I cant remember completely but I dont think she had even shot an automatic still at 16. I expect this will become representative of all gun owners and the 2nd amendment. Just like Hitler and Stalin are representative of all socialists/atheists.
