Whats the point of a 1.8th mile

Well, the 1/8th mile is safer. The top cars in Outlaw have been over 230 mph in the 1/4.

Plus, it gives the nitrous guys at least somewhat of a shot at winning an event. The turbo and c rotor screw blower cars are making 1000+ more horsepower then the nitrous cars. They simply out power them on the back half in a 1/4 mile race.
