I can't begin to fathom the stupidity of the people pissed off at the game hunting Texas Tech cheerleader. No one seemed to care about big game hunting until a pretty girl was the one doing it!

Besides the hateful posts people have left on her wall, she's also been receiving numerous death threats and a Facebook page has been created dedicated to stoping her. People are "outraged" by her photos, yet the same people didn't complain about the poachers last week. Why the double standard?

She's taking part in hunting activities which specifically target vulnerable and threatened African species which could very likely end up extinct in the next decade or two.

She deserves every bit of criticism she's getting and then some.

Also, people complain and protest against poachers all the ****ing time. It's just an impossible market to outlaw when the governments of the countries involved either directly profit from it or don't give a **** in the first place.

Seriously though, society will always have double standards for whatever reason, especially when it comes to women. People get mad at this girl for hunting, but then if a woman commits a crime worth 25 to life she ends up getting like 5 yrs tops instead. It's all backwards

Hmm...From what I see, people are more concerned with a cheerleader that shoots big game, than they are about innocent humans being murdered under the phony wars America is fighting.

Huge difference between poaching and legal hunting. With legal hunting , you pay an insane amount of money just for the permit (which the money would go to the preservation of the other animals). Not only that, but the meat from the kill goes to feeding the local village. Better than their corrupt government can do. Male lions kill other male lions, including little cubs, for the sake of eliminating competition. Kill one male lion, for the sake of saving 20 others. Etc. There are just alot of different aspects to be examined. But yeah, a lot of good can come from hunting legally.

Exactly! There have been MULTIPLE explanations on her posts that explain why each kill was made, and where. These non-hunting "activists" need to educate themselves before throwing insults and death threats (which are being investigated) around!

Newsflash, bro - We live in a technological society. Every minute of every day people are becoming increasingly aware of and involved in issues that were previously foreign or nonexistent to them. Facebook playing a large role in that likely has something to do with the fact that it's the most popular website on the ****ing planet.

Regarding people's awareness of the casualties and infinite amounts of conflict in the middle east : You must not read much. Hell, we have a discussion thread about the Israel/Palestine conflict about once a month in this lounge. There's one going on as I type this.
