  • Cotto's performance vs Pac's performance against Margo (Compubox stats)

    Total punches

    Cotto/Margo 2

    Cotto - 210/493 (43%)
    Margarito - 157/700 (22%)

    Pacquiao/Margarito (first 9 rounds)

    Pacquiao - 321/773 (42%)
    Margarito - 197/638 (31%)

Looks like Cotto did put a boxing clinic to me.

Even though Margo threw 62 more punches against Cotto, he still landed 40 less than the total punches he landed on Pac by round 9.

so now we're evaluating performances based solely on compubox stats?

sounds like something jim lampley would do

        BANG, BANG, BANG

you see that? three punches thrown, three punches landed, one man prevailed as the supreme, super duper diamond kingpin powerhouse

no other human is capable of such a staggering connect percentage

Pac landed 111 more shots, and that was just the first 9 rounds. I'd say that heavily outweighs getting hit 40 less times and I'd constitute that as a boxing clinic.

I know you can argue what the term "boxing clinic" is, but IMO, Pac put on the better one.

2 different fighters with 2 different styles.

Cotto getting hit less doesn't necessarily mean he had a more dominant victory than Pacquiao. Cotto didn't want to get hit at all, Pac didn't mind taking shots to get his own in, and Pac's shots clearly had an effect.

            Two great wins done differently.

Offensively Pac will most likely outpunch Cotto 9 against most opponents.

Yeah we could argue what boxing clinic is and we'll probably disagree so I won't even try.

can't ignored the fact that Margarito damaged eye had nothing to do with it.
                  seriously.

Cotto WAS an outstanding fighter but he is past his prime now.

NO. WE WILL SIT HERE AND ARGUE ABOUT THE DEFINITION OF A BOXING CLINIC.

Ok, here's my definition: A boxing clinic is where boxers go to treat their wounds.
