If you rewatch the fight, while Nate did take some hard shots, he was also rolling with a lot of them and he was jabbing McGregor from the get go.
McGregor was loading on his shots and was very predictable. In the 2nd round he got hurt from a -slap- to a 1-2 combo (no joke) and never recovered. He saved face by going to the ground and getting choked out instead of getting knocked out on his feet, that might sound silly but it makes sense if you know their background.

NATE was the one who took the fight with no notice and it's amazing that he was able to see the 2nd round. Saying that Connor beat himself is foolish when you consider that Nate was the one with all the disadvantages. Connor lost to a guy who was historically awful at 170, had no prep for the fight, and was 2-3 in the last 5 years. No more bullshyt excuses for Connor. -EXPOSED-

He got dat Amir Khan chin, when you land clean on him, he needs like 20 minutes to recuperate, the complete opposite of JMM chin...

The thing that shocked me is that Connor did not utilize his kicking abilities. I think he could have nailed Diaz with body, leg, and push kicks. Nate can't wrestle well so there wasn't great risk of kicks getting caught. Nate is also notorious for not checking leg kicks so the path seemed easy and obvious here. Connor insisted on boxing the boxer (just like Rousey) and got his ass handed to him. We don't need Mystery Inc to figure out what happened here.
