  • Kell Brook, 12 years and 1 legit fight

Of course Brook is going to try to duck his mandatory when he actually stands a chance. The guy has been a pro for 12 years and only has 1 legitimate fight vs Porter.

Let's not call the GGG fight legitimate or act like that absolves him of being a ducker. Of course he takes a high profile, highly profitable fight where he's 100% expected to lose. It was a win-win situation for him.

Brook needs to get in there with young hungry fighters from his weight class and his generation. He has gotta be the most frustrating WW fighter there currently is. At least DSG has quite a few legitimate wins at light welter and is scheduled to face Thurman.

    Just shameful....

I don't give a crap about this Khan-obsessed guy. But he DID call out Haymon fighters when he beat his last mando Bizier and when Khan became impossible to make and Amir fought Canelo. Brook called out Broner, Garcia and Thurman, none of whom responded, except Jessie Vargas, a TR fighter.

he also called out his mandatories after winning the title from porter...he's been on a mandatory streak since then outside of GGG against the likes of jo jo dan and bizier as you mentioned...he could do like he's been doing for over a year since the porter and win you know?...and fight his mandatory...Errol Spence Jr. WBO doesn't allow for unifications anyway and who would want to see brook vs pacquiao when brook is not a star or an elite fighter himself?...That mandatory doe...

see, this is why fighters dont bother trying to please the fans, cause what is the point, people are never happy. He goes up two weights to fight golovkin, the man noone else wants to fight. And he fought him like a man, stood his ground and traded punches with GGG. He gets his eye socket fractured in the process. DOes he get praised for this on the site? No, hell no. He gets criticised. Comments ive read 'it was a money grab' 'it was a win win situation' 'he did it to avoid fighting vargas' 'he did it to avoid spence'. pathetic.

There's no way Arum would give up an in-house fight for a fighter with a manager like Hearn who is known for canceling fights without advanced notice. Thus Paq/Brook has zero chance of happening.

Brook should start focusing on Spence, or Spence starts looking for other dance partners and stop wasting his time. Inactivity will do damage.

Can't really fault Brook for wanting Pac but as you say it's unlikely to materialise. Then it's his choice I guess, either fight Spence or drop the strap and move up. I'm not quite sure what the likelihood is of big fights for Kell at 154 either though, so much of it will depend on how much he thinks he would struggle to make 147.
