    "Fan death is a South Korean urban legend which states that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death of those inside (by suffocation, poisoning, or hypothermia). Fans manufactured and sold in Korea are equipped with a timer switch that turns them off after a set number of minutes, which users are frequently urged to set when going to sleep with a fan on."

    I've heard of this before. To be fair, we have some erroneous beliefs here in the West, such as the belief that coldness or a draft can give you the cold or flu. Both of these are caused by pathogens.

        If a room is sealed tight eventually you run out of oxygen but in a normal room no the cracks vents and under doors case enough atmosphere pressure to keep air flowing is my guess. Beside that bleep with my fan on all night and door closed and have so for the last 7 years with wife in the room 5 of those
