Because while that is my opinion, I wanted to see what others thought and what their input would be on this topic.

You do know the point of a messageboard is for discussion right?

oscar's prime popularity was without the internet age explosion with the twitter, blogging, facebook crap. Pacquiao's prime is smack dab right in the middle of this era. He has a good chance of passing oscar up. The fight vs mayweather would have done that but that's not happening anymore. It will probably take that mayweather fight to surpass oscar's popularity at its peak.

Manny "Everybody's Envy" Pacquiao is farther ahead in popularity and in achievement than that DLH which PAC made a punching bag out of.

Mayweather isn't only a Boxer but an Entertainer ... of course outside of the ring.

Hell no! Pac lacks one big thing Oscar has that Pac will never, ever have, and that is...good looks.

Agreed. Manny won't hit 1 mill PPV buys with Clottey and the only way he does if Margarito vs Contron/Cotto is the undercard. Due to having 4 nationalities that bring fans excusing Clotteys small following. Manny entertains us in the ring but outside the ring his persona is boring. Watching a Manny 24/7 and you see that his crew is highlighted alot more than him. With 93 days away they better put a card together quick.

This aint true at all. De la hoya is or was huge in America, the rest of the world he was not that big.

If you think de la hoya had a huge fan base all around the world, **** knows what you wou think David beckham had! Obviously he has nothing to do with boxing, but im trying to explain to the american fight fan that de la hoya was not as big around the world as you think. Like there is no way he was anywhere near an Ali or a tyson.
