Americans support Americans they like or find entertaining. NOT just any American. Floyd positioned himself as the Villain and he's gonna act surprised that people don't like him? Come on, man!
Fact is that for the most part Americans want to see Americans do well. It's why the heavyweight division is **** right now and very talented foreigners in the NBA will never reach Kobe, Lebron, Iverson, Shaq levels... ever. Manny crossed over. It's a very rare situation.
You know what's even more rare? That a talent like Floyd can be so grating and involved in so many boring fights that Americans reject him. All he cares about is money anyway so why's he worried about support at this stage in the game?
(For the record, I don't think he was boring the other night. He was ****ing fantastic for the first time in years and I appreciate that he finally gave the public something to be impressed about in his welterweight career.)
