THE CLOCK IS TICKING: TEAM PACQUIAO GIVES MAYWEATHER DEADLINE TO MAKE UP HIS MIND
By G. Leon
Other than creating a hurricane of negative energy and (once he's done folding) a built in excuse should he suffer his first loss, it is becoming clearer and clearer that Floyd Mayweather Jr's plan to publicly oust Manny Pacquiao has backfired on him. Badly. With each passing hour it appears more and more likely that for his mega-fight to take place on March 13, it will have to take place under the full jurisdiction of the Nevada State Athletic Commission and its normal testing procedures. After Pacquiao had agreed to virtually every additional demand the Mayweather camp, some genius felt it was time to go public with the statement heard round the world. Well, the public has spoken and it's just taken a few days( and only one after ********** broke the news that Pacquiao was filing suit) for Team Mayweather to begin to crease. Golden Boy CEO Richard Schafer issued a statement to ESPN in which he formally folded on their USDA stance, but maintained that additional "random" testing must be done for a deal to be struck. However, Bob Arum has made it crystal clear to **********.com that Team Pacquiao's position is simple. This fight will happen under the testing and regulations of every other fight before it or it just won't happen. We have also been informed that Golden Boy is in receipt of Pacquiao's final offer and will have until "Monday or Tuesday" or next week to make up their mind
