  • Frank Mir talking about his positive PED result

Former UFC champion Frank Mir got popped for a anabolic steroid metabolite after his recent fight as some of you may have heard. He talked about it on his podcast Phone Booth Fighting a couple days ago. Worth a listen if you like a deeper discussion about PEDs than you typically hear, the testing process & the human drama element of it all.

Yeah, I read he might retire if he's stuck with the 2 year suspension, which it looks like he is. Maybe this positive test was someone's way of trying to get him to finally retire.

Frank Mir is an idiot. He should have retired years ago though.

Shame about the suspension. Frank Mir is a MMA legend. A legit badass.

He was in the worst shape ever for this fight too.

True, but he's looked bad for a while, both in his fights and physically.

Yeah, kind of like Wanderlei retiring in 2014 after not wanting to test for PEDs or being banned and then talking of retirement. Then he signed with Bellator for a few fights, so he'll probably retire after that contract is up.

At least with Mir, he's saying screw it and just being done with the sport. He should be okay though. UFC will probably bring him back for commentary in a couple of years.

Yeah, he's usually pretty eloquent when discussing the sport, so he should be able to if he retires now. Dude's a 2 time champion and one of the best heavyweights to ever fight in the UFC.
