I wonder why people think this. I watched round 9 couple times, cotto still maintained control and landed shots. At this point i think he felt comfortable to sit nd trade more.

On round 9 Margarito was not effective, incacurate, and Cotto was landing some crazy combos and some solid bombs as well as manhandling Margarito.

End of story, it was in no way Margarito's best round and he was going to continue to be hit at will by Cotto.
