The Heavyweight Division... The Closest Thing We Have to a Real Sport

Wilder vs Povetkin in the final stages
Fury vs Klitchko 2
Joshua vs Martin
Then you have Parker vs Takam and the emergence of Luis Ortiz. Fights are actually happening here. And even better:
No catchweight and diva bull****
Few network and promotional barriers
Stars in the division actually challenging themselves
In the lower weight classes you have new weight classes being formed, stupid diva demads, basic crossroads fights marinating and barriers preventing unifications for ****ing in house fights.
Thank goodness for the HW division right now because it ain't looking pretty elsewhere.
In terms of talent, depth and meaningful fights, the division is still seriously lacking. Talent is way deeper from 147-154 and 122-130.

Heavyweight is always good.
People just pretend it sucks or rules more depending on the geography.
We are actually in a boring period compared to the past few years as far as KOs and 50/50 matchups.
But Fury wins the title and Wilder breaks the top 10 and all these dudes are suddenly interested again...
Hey whatever no harm done. Welcome back.

At heavyweight, the belts mean everything. Guys are willing to fight eliminators to get their shots.
At heavyweight, you can't just move up or down 4 pounds to duck someone or cherry pick a belt.
And things are only going to get better at heavyweight with the WBA soon ending the lunacy of having three champions.
If only people would stop recognizing the WBO and we could hopefully build towards a WBA/WBC/IBF unification, the first since the 90s.

The thing I'm most sick of hearing about these days is this ****ing obsession with the 'A side'. It's even been taken on by new champions for christ sake.
So far I can't remember hearing about any of that in the HW division. I hope not anyway.
