Is Dereck Chisora finished as a heavyweight contender?

He's not finished but he's not someone to get excited about.

Chisora is a head case and lacks discipline. His weight fluctuates and he is probably certifiably nuts. Kinda like James Buster Douglas. One night he can look like a million bucks then his next fight show up looking like the Goodyear Blimp and get beaten all over the ring by a gypsy best known for punching himself in the face.

Chisora will never string together consistent wins because of this. He is always a threat to lay a total dud which is a problem for promoters who have to commit to him months in advance. It will make it hard for him to get the fights he wants going forward.

And there was the loss to Fury.

I still think an in-shape and motivated Chisel could beat Fury. (Or at least, the Fury he fought back then... Fury does, to his credit, improve).

Fury beat A Chisel, not THE Chisel.

This and exactly this.

Klitschko's age and coming in out of shape also helped bolster his popularity, as it tricked many fans into thinking Chisora was much better than he actually is.

But you're a fan anyway, right?

Of course, most of the Chisel's rep comes off the Helenius fight.
