For those who believe that pit's have this "locking jaw" mechanism, they don't, it's a myth. There have been studies done that show that there is no evidence what so ever that pit's lock there jaws when they bite. All dogs come from the same species and have no locking jaw mechanism. Also, there is no evidence that shows that pits have a stronger bite than any large dog breed. In fact, when Dr. Brady Barr of National Geographic (Dangerous Encounters: Bite Force, 8/18/2005) measured the bite forces of three dog breeds using a computerized bite sleeve, the American Pit Bull Terrier generated the least amount of pressure out of the 3 dogs tested, (the other two dogs were a German Shepherd Dog and a Rottweiler). Scientific experiments indicate that trained bite dogs (including pits) can bite at a little over 300 PSI maximum. Now for the wolf. I am sick of all these pit fanatics claiming these dogs can kill any and everything. No pit can stand against a wild animal like a wolf. Pits are trained to fight other domesticated animals (dogs) and wolves are far from domesticated. People have this missconseption that wolves can only kill in packs which is false. Wolves when threatend have no problem fighting alone because of how strong they are. Most dogs do not stand much of a chance against a wolf protecting its territory from an unwanted intrusion. "The jaws of wolves are designed to hold and subdue the prey. Powered by 1500 lb/sq. inch of pressure, a wolf's teeth are its main weapons as well as its primary tools", so they know how to use them in a lethal way. Not to say that dogs don't but wolves look for the one bite kill rather than the keep biteing untill weakend approach most dogs like pits do. Just like snoop said this fight would most likely never happen but if it were to, the wolf would tear a new ******* in a pit in seconds no question.

Compare a prime Alpha Wolf would to a Grand Champion Pitt. Remember that owners pumped the dogs with drugs and sharpen their teeth yeah. What kind of Pitt are we talking about? There are many average pet Pitts... like there are subordinate wolves. A prime fighting Pitt should be 40 to 50 lbs, rarely over 70.

So yes, comparing a 40 lb GC to a prime Wolf is fair.
